HAPPY WEDNESDAY

my handsome boy, post dentist visit this morning. i'm so happy everything went well!

ten things making me happy right now:

10. chocolate donuts for breakfast
9. i slept five straight hours last night, hallelujah!
8. this gorgeous weather. i will never ever ever get tired of these perfect 70 degree days in january
7. everything is ready for baby sister's arrival! i love the little piles of soft, clean onesies and the packed hospital bag. i can't wait to put it all to good use!
6. morning prayer and the peace it has brought to my days this week
5. these sporadic contractions. they haven't turned into anything real yet, but my hopes are high!
4. curious george, thomas, and buzz lightyear- they're all keeping my tired, recooperating little guy happy today
3. our arizona friends are really taking care of us this week, bringing dinner and taking luc to playdates- i'm feeling so blessed!
2. luc's dentist appointment went fabulously this morning. i was nervous because he's never been sedated before, but it went great and best of all- it's over!
1. orlando makes me happy everyday, but today he has been especially wonderful. he is an incredible papa and husband and i would be lost without him. luc and baby sister and i are lucky to have him!

HAPPY WEDNESDAY

or should i say, happy thanksgiving eve! are you ready to get your feast on? I AM. this year, being 7 months pregnant and away from family and our ohio traditional thanksgiving peeps, i just can't find within me the slightest desire to cook anything. at all. i just want to eat and eat and eat and then take a long nap, after which i will eat some more. and then dessert after.

so {is this totally horrible?} we are going to order in our thanksgiving feast this year. i've heard mimi's cafe is good so, along with a few friends, we are going to pick it up, pop it all in the oven for heating, and feast 30 minutes later. i should be ashamed at my lack of domesticity and festiveness, but I'M TOO EXCITED TO EAT.

so obviously number one on my happy list this week is:

1. thanksgiving dinner tomorrow
2. no more glucose tests! until my next pregnancy at least...
3. hot chocolate
4. christmas shopping has commenced!
5. christmas chocolate
6. christmas projects
7. christmas everything
8. seeing our sweet baby girl on an ultrasound this morning- i got all choked up watching her little heart beat, strong and sure. she was wiggling away, and weighs about 4lbs 10oz, which is a whole pound bigger than her brother was at this stage.
9. baby girl is head down- fingers crossed for a successful vbac!

2. making christmas lists {eeek! so excited!}
3. our awesome craigslist find yesterday for luc's big christmas present. i won't spoil the surprise, but i am giddy with excitement about it!!
4. a great conversation with my best friend yesterday
5. chocolate milk
6. 75 degree park days in NOVEMBER!
7. a little new makeup splurging at bareminerals this morning
8. luc is napping! nap time has been hit or miss lately, so i'm especially grateful today.
9. reading harry potter and the chamber of secrets
10. tis the season for our favorite treats!

HAPPY WEDNESDAY!

ten things making me happy right now:

1. luc has been singing 'jesus wants me for a sunbeam' to himself all day and i'm convinced it's the cutest thing ever. it makes me so happy to watch him learn new things! {i'll post the video on facebook, it's way too cute not to share}
2. the amazing weather we've had this week. it's been in the eighties everyday, which means late afternoons at the park are honestly perfection.
3. cheesecake cravings and a handsome hubby who drives all the way to the cheesecake factory to satisfy said cravings.
4. baby sister has started moving a lot more often this week. she used to be an early morning and late night mover ONLY, but the past few days she's started being more active throughout the day and i love the little reminders that she's doing well and getting stronger. this part of pregnancy is one of my very favorites.
5. my list of projects. i love having something to work on, and i have a few fun ideas that i'm going to make happen this month.
6. homemade chocolate milkshakes.
7. how well luc has adjusted to his toddler bed. i was worried it would be a difficult change, but he's taken to it amazingly, which is a huge relief to this mama. next up, the BINKY!
8. the ever-growing pile of quilts, clothes, and bows for baby girl. this is SO MUCH FUN!
9. my dishwasher. dishes take a quarter of the time they used to, hooray!
10. luc's constant 'dank doo mommom' every time i give him something or help him. he says it so eagerly, without me reminding him, and it melts my heart! i love my sweet boy.

HAPPY WEDNESDAY! ON FRIDAY!

i've been meaning to start my happy wednesday posts again, but didn't get this one down in time this week. so here it is, on friday :) HAPPY WEEKEND!

10 things making me happy right now:

1. orlando is back! this means luc smiles a million times more a day and so do i, plus now i can take long showers instead of lightening fast showers. he makes all the difference, in so many little, everyday ways. i'm never letting him go anywhere without me, ever again.

2. luc has learned all the names of the trains from thomas and friends, and enthusiastically hollers at random people 'all aboooooard!' while waving his arm grandly. i die everytime.

3. peaches. PEACHES PEACHES PEACHES. thank you heaven for peach season. 

4. countdown to finding out this baby's gender: 12 DAYS! so close!

5. while being sick has not been fun, at least this epic cold has eliminated my sense of smell. hardly anything makes me gag anymore- poopy diapers: easy. orlando's socks: nada. pet food aisle at the store: unfazed. cooking meat: no sweat. public restrooms: jk. still can't do this one. no power on earth is strong enough to cover that smell. 

6. diet pepsi. gets rid of my sinus headache, calms my quesy stomach, AND it's just so darn cold and refreshing in this summer heat. put a fresh can in my hand and the world is suddenly a better place. 

7.  17 weeks pregnant! almost halfway, hip hip hooray!

8. luc has taken to calling me mommom- his mix version of mama and mom. i love it more than 100% of the other words in the english language. 

9. central air. there's nothing quite like sitting on the ac vent in the middle of a feverish hot flash. blessed cold air, i love you. 

10. pretty much everything luc says. i thought he was the cutest kid in the world, until he started talking. now i'm certain he's the cutest, smartest kid of all time, in the whole universe. he is the happiest part of my life these days.

1. it's orlando's birthday week, and i'm having so much fun giving him little surprises every day! can't wait til his actual birthday on friday!
2. pool days with my little fishie. we don't have ac, so it's the only thing making these humid days bearable. and it's so darn cute how much luc loves it!
3. ceiling fans & popsicles {see above}
4. the homemade ranch dressing i made this morning and am going to eat for lunch {with a side of salad, of course}
5. i'm down to 124 lbs, woot! that's 4 pounds lighter than i was when i got pregnant with luc, and only 4 pounds away from my goal weight. fist pump!
6. it's naptime and i have a new book to read. is there anything better?
7. luc seems to be over the worst of his molar discomfort, and is quickly getting back to his regular, happy self.
8. the much needed talk i had with stacy yesterday that made my week

         orlando is coming home early

10 things making me happy right now:

1. this weather is amazing. 68 with a touch of humidity feels like 74, which is perfect for this girl. especially since this baby is a literal furnace in my belly lately.

2. orlando has the next two weeks off before he starts his summer internship and we are both LOVING it. life is stress-free and laid back and we are soaking up our time together before baby boy arrives.

3. in his newly aquired free-time, orlando has taken up golf. i never thought much of golf before, but my man looks dang sexy in golf clothes! so i'm a fan.

4. our 36 week doctor appointment is today and includes a cervical check. never thought i'd be excited for one of those, but this time, i can't wait!

5. we picked out a shade of blue for the nursery and i am really excited to get his little room all set up and cozy.

6. only 21 more days of work, i am so looking forward to being a full-time mama!

7. birthday shopping for orlando. it's my favorite kind of shopping.

8. hypnobirthing- i've started practicing every night {instead of the 3 times a week i was doing before} and i have been sleeping amazingly. i'm way more comfortable then i was a week ago- my back and hips don't ache and that sciatic throb in my butt is gone. i still have very little energy, but at least when i sleep, i sleep well.

9. amy generously gifted us with a gallon of vanilla ice cream, and then we bought fresh strawberries at the grocery store... these fresh strawberry milkshakes have been rocking my world this week! they're the best after-work treat.

10. baby boy must have dropped a little because i woke up this morning and i could BREATHE! joyous day!

this week has been a quick blur and in all the hustle, i almost forgot happy wednesdays! i only just remembered. so here it is on thursday. without further ado:

1. i started my new job and i love it

2. i've been scheming about halloween costumes and party plans this week and it's getting me super excited
3. hubby brought home three bags of dove chocolate squares monday night

4. the rain has stopped finally and we're back to beautiful, sixty-five degree fall days

5. i ran two miles yesterday and i'm wonderfully sore today

6. my experiment of meatball and tomato pasta turned out heavenly yesterday
7. news that grandma johnson's breast cancer was caught early and is operable

8. my pretty new iphone came in the mail today

9. monday is a bank holiday which means i get the day off and i get paid for it. hello three day weekend!

10. melissa gave me a facial yesterday and my skin is gorgeous today

now if you'll excuse me, my new iphone and i have a date....

i've found myself incredibly inspired this past week. inspired by elder uchtdorf and my heavenly father, by pinterest, by orlando, by friends and family, by fall and the weather and the rythym of this city, by blogposts here and here... it's in the air, all over the place, and all i want to do is create and bake and meditate and discuss and pull it all in and wrap it up to keep for those days when i can't seem to find any.

of the many recipes and projects and goals i've got running happy-wild in my head, one of them i wanted to launch on this here blog. i'm calling it:

 'happy wednesdays'

i find wednesday to often be the hardest day of the week, it being smack dab in the busy, tiring middle of things and i think it'll do a body & mind good to pause and embrace the little things, be grateful, and rejoice in the everyday once a week.  so every wednesday i'll post a happy list- it can be anything, ANYTHING {the sky's the limit!} happy or lovely or of good report or praiseworthy and hopefully, it'll start here and spread a little sunshine and inspiration as it goes along.
