WHEN I NEED TO REMEMBER

Friday, October 23
some days. man, some days are just so hard. i don't know exactly what makes them so rough, it's some cosmic combination of exhaustion, bad attitudes, clutter, too much tv, to much to get done, and probably a lack of wholesome recreation and ice cream. i try really hard to not to 'create' these days as often as possible. i know if i plan too many errands on one day or miss a meal, it's not going to help, and i do my best to steer clear of these well-known pitfalls. but sometimes these bad days are unavoidable. sometimes we are just cranky and hot and nothing seems to go right. last night, luc fell and split his chin open at the park, so we had our first urgent care visit {which went great, thankfully!} and we got home late and then none of us slept well last night. so today has been the aftermath, and it hasn't been pretty.

there are many coping mechanisms, for days like these. retail therapy is my favorite, but it costs the most. food, namely dessert, is another classic go-to. another one that always works for me, and it's free; when i need to remember how much i love staying home with my babies, and how happy they make me, i scroll back through pictures of them and study their sweet little faces, their bright eyes and perfect little noses, and i remember again how fiercely i adore them and how much i love being their mama. and it gets me through the day.
