exploring!

we have been busy busy busy! orlando turned 29 and we celebrated at the hard rock cafe with endless strawberry milkshakes {his favorite} and a birthday sundae to top off the awesomeness.

all of our earthly possessions arrived on a huge truck wednesday {yay, no more camping out!} and it's been a slow process getting it all unpacked. the kitchen is done and the rest... well the rest is taking it's sweeeeeeet time. but at least we can eat and we have our bed back. we are happy.

orlando is studying and studying and i've been on the job hunt most days... i've applied for something like 25 jobs now but i really just want one. the museum has an open position and i've applied and am now waiting with fingers crossed- send some good thoughts my way please, i would really really love to get this job!

for date night + to reward ourselves for all our hard work this week, we went to carrabba's, {oh how we missed you, carrabba's!} a favorite restaurant of ours from utah. it was heavenly, just like always. even better was being back with my hubby for our weekly date night. i really missed those when we were apart.

today, we decided to take a break from unpacking and walmart shopping and cleaning and studying and job hunting, to enjoy the start of our independance day weekend {happy 4th of july!} with a little exploring of our new city. we drove all over midtown, found the only hispanic market in cleveland, explored the huge central park + case western university campus and then went over to the cleveland museum of art {my dream workplace!} for a few hours of art nirvana.

words aren't enough to describe how absolutely gorgeous this museum is. honestly, i was pleasantly surprised- i wasn't expecting it to be so huge or extensive or beautiful. it'a a new building and it's only about half done so the collections on display in the finished half are only a small portion of the museum holdings- and they were stunning! i can't wait until the entire thing is finished and the rest is out to see.  i felt like i was in the louvre, the galleries are huge and gorgeous and the exhibits are perfectly curated. i'm hooked- i will definitely be going back next week with my mom... and then again the next week by myself, probably :) i don't think i'll ever get tired of wandering around here:

i have a fun list of observations i've been meaning to share too... maybe tomorrow- i've got to get a little more unpacking done before sunday and the 4th of july and my mom gets here- it's going to be a great week!
