my other half came to visit last week and as always it was beyond wonderful to see her. even better was having her all to myself for three whole fabulous days. it was full of goodness, a weekend straight out of our roommate days, and i needed it. she left me feeling full and happy like only she can. mmm, i love my kara!
we started out our vacation with a visit to one of the prettiest buildings in the world- the san diego LDS temple. i got married here on a perfect august day almost three years ago while kara was on her mission and ever since i have been wanting to take her inside and show her my temple. she loved it of course because it's gorgeous.

we went to lunch and then got directions to one of our favorite places for an afternoon of shopping- victorias secret. pretty sure i could shop there everyday. too many fun little lacy things to buy!
after exhausting our feeties and our wallets, we headed over to old town for the best mexican food around- cafe coyote.
then our after-dinner-chocolate-popsicle eating turned into a classic impromptu photoshoot...
these are our 'we are sooooo happy right now' faces
these are our 'hello hottie man' faces...
had to do the nacho libre faces
these are our 'giddy with joy' faces- giddy giddy woot!!
oh how i love this girl
not sure what we were doing here...
saying hello to our utah peeps
kara's 'i just got a mushy text from christopher' face
it was getting late. that's all i can see about these...
monday was beach day and the weather was perfect
we ate on the mission beach boardwalk- i had the best teriyaki chicken sandwich ever
the weekend flew by way too fast and my voice was gone by the time she left because we talked so much. it just felt so good to sit and talk to my best friend, to make plans, squeal, swoon, and grin our faces off at how wonderful life is. we talked about our boys non-stop and ate a whole box of those chocolate popsicles so really, it was the perfect girl's weekend.
it's been decided that we're going to need a girls-only weekend like this at least once a year from now on until forever.
i'm so happy she came, she's always the perfect company!
