around these parts, we go to the beach often- it's gorgeous and free, which is an absolutely perfect combination. we like to get a monster ice cream cone and take a stroll, people watch and enjoy the breeze. this past weekend, it was finally warm enough {glorious 78 degrees!} to take an official beach day- you know, the kind where you take beach towels, swimsuits, books, etc and actually get in the ocean. {does up to my knees count? it's cold water!}
saturday was a beautiful sunny day with just enough breeze to keep us cool, and hubby and i really enjoyed ourselves, laying out lazily on the warm sand, watching the waves come and go like a slow porch swing on a humid southern summer afternoon.

after a few lazy hours, we shared a cone and met up with our friends, the valenti's, for a few family pictures on the beach. they are the most darling family! we love hanging out with these guys. after cameron was DONE with the holdstillforthepicturecam! nonesense, they treated us to a yummy lunch at cafe coyote, and we all headed home with bodies full of sunshine, sand, guacamole and goodness.
beach days are happy in my soul days.
